Are you a partnership, limited liability company or corporation who filed for extension? Thursday September 15, 2016 is an important date for you to remember! This day will be the last day to file your business return(s).

With that being said, in case you forgot, you will need to be filing form 1065, 1120 or 1120 by Thursday September 15, 2016.

Also, are you an individual who is filing form 1040 or 1040EZ who also filed for extension? Heads up! The last day for you guys to file is Monday October 18, 2016.

Don’t forget to file! It should be known that failure to file results in penalties being assessed. You don’t want to deal with the penalties!

Here is a suggestion for you in 2017 for your 2016 tax return: file early!

People file their extensions in the spring, thinking you will get to them soon, but then you end up waiting until the additional time granted has almost passed. It’s safe to assume you will probably still be just as busy at the end of the additional time granted as you are earlier in 2017. Be safe and not sorry! Wouldn’t you like to avoid being stressed two times a year? File early this upcoming year and avoid all the headaches!
